About
I am a London-based artist and resident of Kindred Studios in North Kensington. Having studied Fine Art and Art History at Newcastle University in the late 90s, I spent almost fifteen years working in film production and project managing for museums, artists and curators. I continued making throughout, but committed fully to my practice once my children were born.
My eldest child was born with a rare neurological condition, and living with this over the last fourteen years has profoundly informed my work. For a long time its influence was unconscious and something I found difficult to allow in. More recently the work has begun to draw out things that I couldn't otherwise access, and equally, my personal experience has fed into the work; a quiet symbiosis and mutual exchange that I've come to value deeply.
I am curious as to how life connects — the places where spirituality and science intersect. My research, which draws on cosmology, quantum physics, esotericism, numerology, literature, sound and nature, all circle back to the idea that everything is connected and folds back into itself. My practice feels like a form of searching through this — small fragments that speak to something much larger.
